What is the Oregon Clean Vehicle Rebate Program?
The OCVRP is a program offering rebates in eligible electric vehicles purchased or leased by Oregon residents. The program differs from tax credits, allowing you to apply your rebate at the point of sale through participating dealerships like Lithia Ford of Klamath Falls, conveniently located near Bend and Roseburg. You can also claim your rebate after purchase if you meet eligibility requirements. Two primary categories are included in the Oregon Clean Vehicle Rebate Program:
- Standard Rebate: available to Oregon residents without income restrictions, offering up to $2,000 for new EVs with 10-kWh batteries or more, and up to $1,5000 for new plug-in hybrid (PHEV) models with 10-kWh batteries or more
- Charge Ahead Rebate: this rebate is designed for qualifying low and moderate-income households, along with eligible low-income service providers, with rebates of up to $7,500 toward the purchase or lease of qualifying new/used EVs available
Who Qualifies for the Oregon Clean Vehicle Rebate Program?
Eligibility requirements may differ depending on the vehicle type you are considering, but most drivers should have Oregon residency, purchase/lease of an eligible EV during an approved program window, Oregon vehicle registration, and compliance with program ownership/application requirements, outlined by the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality.
