My full list of Cosmic Car Names. @Ford does well. So does @GM, especially in their @Chevrolet line: https://t.co/ciqV5eFRnc

The host of the Fox mini-series, Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey, Neil deGrasse Tyson recently tweeted about "cosmic car names." The famed astrophysicist is always looking for ways to bring the mysteries of the universe a little closer to home, and this one hit us right in our Klamath Falls Ford inventory.
About the Ford Focus, he comments, "There are no microscopes, telescopes, and there would be no vision at all without lenses or mirrors bringing light to a focus."
The Ford Fusion? Tyson describes the process of nuclear fusion, in which atoms smash into each other and merge into heavier elements. It is the very process which makes the sun shine.
Speaking of the sun, here's a fact you didn't know, Neil -- it was a Ford marketing manager named John Atkinson who coined the term "moonroof" in 1973, to distinguish Ford's sliding-glass panels from the solid-panel sunroofs of the past.
